The Perry County Public Library serves residents through two brick and mortar locations in Cannelton and Tell City, along with a Bookmobile that brings library services directly to the community. The Tell City Public Library opened its doors in 1917, and has been a cornerstone of learning and literacy in Perry County for over a century.
The library provides books in both large print and regular print, magazines, movies on DVD and Blu-ray, video games for Xbox, PlayStation and Switch, audiobooks on CD, newspapers, and Wi-Fi boxes, plus downloadable books and movies for e-readers, tablets, smartphones, and other devices. It’s a modern resource center that has evolved far beyond traditional book lending.
The library offers story times for children, programs for adults, and computers for the general public. The Tell City location at 2328 Tell Street provides programs open Monday through Saturday, making the library an accessible hub for families, students, and anyone seeking information, entertainment, or community connection right here in Perry County.
