Encompassing nearly eight square city blocks between 14th and 18th streets and Ruben and Schiller streets, Hagedorn Park has a lot to offer residents and visitors seeking outdoor recreation in the heart of Tell City.
The park features a full-size baseball field with a new indoor batting cage, an olympic-size outdoor swimming pool, six tennis courts, two full basketball courts, horseshoe pits, and a children’s playground. Throughout Hagedorn Park, amenities are available, including a walking trail, a dog park, a swimming pool, a spray park, a playground, pickleball, tennis and basketball courts.
Tell City Sports Complex at Hagedorn Park is up and running, receiving a dedication ceremony during the summer heat Tuesday, June 24 of last year. The 59-acre park currently has four baseball/softball fields; this project will improve those existing and expand to eight ball fields. The complex represents a long-awaited dream for the community, with the project funded through a combination of city leadership, private contributions, and $600,000 in READI funding.
The Sports Complex is part of the larger Hagedorn Park, which also features the JFK Pool and Splash Pads, tennis courts, pickleball and basketball courts, a dog park, walking trails, and other amenities. Together, these spaces enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors while supporting long-term community development.
