Located at 548 9th Street in Tell City, the Tell City Historical Society and Museum serves as a guardian of our community’s rich heritage. The museum focuses on preserving the history of Tell City from its inception in 1858, when Swiss-German immigrants established the community through the Swiss Colonization Society.
The museum features over 3,700 square feet of display area, along with a genealogy research library and meeting room. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Historical Society is funded by donations and membership dues, working tirelessly to collect, display, and interpret historical artifacts for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations.
The museum welcomes visitors every Sunday (except holidays) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and is also open during special community events like the Perry County Dogwood Festival in April and the Tell City Schweizer Fest in August.
