The Perry County Soil and Water Conservation District is a legal subdivision of state government under the Indiana State Department of Agriculture, Division of Soil Conservation, responsible for the protection, conservation and wise use of the soil, water and related natural resources within Perry County.
Erosion, drainage and runoff are real property problems on Perry County’s hills and farmland, and the soil and water district offers a Tell City office, public meetings and help linking to conservation aid. The Perry County SWCD is a state board comprised of five elected and appointed officials entrusted with the leadership of protection of local soil and water conservation resources.
To fulfill its role, the Perry County SWCD works with federal, state and local agencies, organizations and individuals to correct existing soil and water problems to develop Perry County’s natural resources to proper and full use. The district office is located at 3214 Tell Street # 2 in Tell City.
