Perry County Grows’ new market in Cannelton is bringing wellness and sustainability to the community with locally sourced food and drink, natural products and education. The market, owned by Michelle Brockman and located at 218 South Seventh Street, was created to meet a need for healthy food options in the area.
The market houses five independent businesses all selling their own healthy food and drink options. Those businesses include The Herbal Cup, Kelly’s Cookery, Winkleberry Farm, Taylor Made and For the Honor of the Light. Brockman calls these “incubator businesses,” with the ultimate goal for each to be successful and eventually open as brick-and-mortar businesses within the community.
The market prioritizes locally sourced food and drink to help the community and local farmers. Perry County Grows is also expecting to add to their current offerings of incubator businesses, with what’s available now hopefully just the start of what will be there.
